was reading my last post (3 months ago…uhhh… opps)…a loaf of bread was 3 million zim dollars….ha ha…thats hilarious….nothing is 3 million anymore….if you are lucky to find a bag of milk you’ll pay 150 million… this week.

so yeah…no idea where the last two months have gone….
and i am up against the clock here in this sweltering internet cafe here in kampala…..its not natural to have this many computers generating this much heat in an already hot and smoggy city. i need a bucket of cold water.
i booked my flights to zimbabwe today…and as of this friday i will once again be on an airplane and finally reaching my destination. its been a long time coming.
after a short stint in canada, the uk, and now uganda i will be able to hang up the backpack and let down my dreads….which have turned green from the chlorine yesterday….not so impressed with that today. me thinks a little bleaching action is in order this week. good thing i have some time to kill here in the dustiest – non – desert – city in the world.
had the chance to shoot some photos this weekend for the launching of kampalas children centre…was fun to practice my new love and play around with the images.
was amazing to see the kids one year on….they’ve grown so tall and those who i helped settle in one year ago now speak english and luganda. they are soo smart!
anyway, i am out of time…but certainly not thoughts and stories….sorry for the silence. i may be switching stuff up a bit regarding this blog….ill keep you posted…..when i can.

crazy death carpet in the hallway….and stairs of torture.
the largest smoked meat sandwich in history….the kind that gets fed-exed to toronto for lunch….famous….and realy a once in a lifetime is enough kinda experience..ugh.
good port, free wine, and LOTS of crepes.

its been a month….
i blame facebook.

the last month has been fun….

housesitting in ‘dits’-ilano…in a very sweet little apartment…sad to leave it tomorrow.

photography mentorship with david the photo guru…LOVIN it.

purchased my very own canon 30D today….very sexy…

while i was in a cafe today i overheard some very funny conversations about how to effectively pick up a chick…and what not to say….apparently if you say ‘hello’ first instead of ‘hey babe whats up?’ its supposed to be more effective….i was trying to subtly listen in, until i heard that part of the conversation, at which point i just couldnt hold it in any more… also, ‘are those real?’ is frowned upon according to these professional flirting masters. my, they sure are clever and cutting-edge…hmmm.

found myself dressed as a panther…sorry kirk…DREAD panther…in the midst of a private keg staff halloween/birthday party…. chaos. the place nearly set alight when an open candle flame attacked a menu….luckily this is one agile dread panther….and, after realising that the smoke WASNT cool special halloween effects, i dashed across the floor extinguishing the fire….panthers are very fast and handy to have around… and like jake daniels and coke…so i hear.

‘the year of the dogs’ is officially the WORST movie i have EVER seen. please dont ever wach it…i nearly died of boredom…very nearly.

was accosted by geisha’s in the loo, with dread questions…twice…rather bizarre….
helped jill blag her kayak through check-in as non-kayak baggage…rather hilarious. (just tape it up like a coffin and weather its a boat or not is the least of their worries)
someone lost feathers and stuffing….rather confusing.
rainbow bright is a flirt with a weakness for sailors….rather irritating.
i am a very bad plant babysitter….rather shameful.

i discovered the other day that i am now of the age where its ok to wink at people and your not seen as a flirt…generally. anybody, anytime, anywhere, any age…im going to max this one out big stlye.

figured out that you can make microwave popcorn on the stove. very handy.
also figured out that if i had the choice i would rather run into a bear than a skunk….you pepper spray a bear and chances are you win….you pepper spray a skunk and chances are he sprayed you first. there are a few holes in that theory but generally it works. skunks roam freely here in this area…maybe its the louloulemon pants or the organic coffee that attracts them to this area….at any rate they like to hang around outside my gate. not impressed.

i think thats a well rounded update….now, whose on facebook at this hour…hmmmm.

im in the land of cowboys and chinooks….mainly freezing my arse of but generally having a hoot.
my mate gets married tomorrow so my last few pre-wedding days have been random and all over the place….ive been…
writing speeches, screening calls, destressing the bride using a variety of tactics…i have found the combination of humour and alcohol at unreasonable hours seem to do the trick…;)
flower flinging at stupid o’clock in the morning (picture desperate housewives in rush-seating-mosh-pit-mode let loose in a flower warehouse) terrifying….
we’ve cigar smoked, coffeed out, and lengeried up.

its the night before the chaos….i need a big shot of something in a choclate cup…

its late….my eyes are stinging from tiredness….im in the middle of packing my life into my backpack again…so all of my personal belongings are currently in a huge pile on my bed….hence why im not sleeping yet and why im procrastinating. tempted to just lie down on top of everything but the crease marks on my face in the morning may not come out.

heres a quick update as im too knackered to go into details….

finished with rio for awhile
